Formative Detroit techno group Cybotron have released a two-track EP, Maintain The Golden Ratio, via Tresor/BMG. The EP is the first release from Cybotron in 40 years to feature electronic music pioneer and founding member Juan Atkins.
Cybotron, initially established as a duo, consisted of Juan Atkins and Richard Davis. Atkins left the group to start Model 500 following the release of their seminal 1983 album Enter, Davis continued to release music on a solo basis up until 1995.
The project was revived for a run of live shows in 2019 and 2020, with a new lineup featuring Atkins, Laurens von Oswald, and Tameko Williams, AKA DJ Maaco of Detroit In Effect.
Maintain The Golden Ratio has been produced by Atkins and von Oswald.
