Netflix Top 10 Week of Apr. 29: “Baby Reindeer” Holds Strong; “Heeramandi” Breaks Records; Katt Williams and Tom Brady Live Events Bring the Laughs

May 7 – Who would’ve thought all this would happen because of a cup of tea? Baby Reindeer, the captivating true story of creator Richard Gadd’s experience with a stalker, was the most-watched title this week, spending its third consecutive week atop the English TV List, with 18.6M views. Buzz for the breakout series continues to grow, with Stephen King calling it “one of the best things I’ve ever seen.” Also having a big week was Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar (India), the period drama from BAFTA winner Sanjay Leela Bhansali which follows the lives, loves, and tragedies of 1920s courtesans, which debuted in second place on the Non-English TV List with 4.5M views. The series is our biggest Indian scripted series premiere to date with 4.5M views globally and ranked in the Top 10 in 43 countries.

Two live specials from the Netflix is a Joke Fest had audiences everywhere laughing, and appeared on the English TV List. Katt Williams: Woke Foke had viewers nationwide (and beyond) on his side, taking fourth place (4M views), and The Roast of Tom Brady took sixth place (2M views). But it wasn’t just the killer jabs at the GOAT that had fans raving – that iconic Bill Belichick/Robert Kraft shot, brokered by none other than Kevin Hart, had Bill Simmons questioning if he was still alive.

Jerry Seinfeld’s hilarious take on the genesis of the Pop-Tart, Unfrosted, might not reach Ken Burns’ level of historical accuracy, but it’s still real – and it’s spectacular. The film, which features a who’s who of comedy including Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant and many more, debuted at #1 on the English Films List, with 7.1M views. Guess all that press paid off! Also making its debut this week was A Man in Full. The new limited series from David. E Kelley starring Jeff Daniels and Diane Lane, debuted in second place on the English TV List with 6.3M views.

The true crime-inspired limited series The Asunta Case (Spain) kept the top spot on the Non-English TV List for the second week in a row, with 11.9M views. Two limited series also made their list debuts: the comedy Fiasco (France) in seventh place (1.4M views), and the romantic comedy Frankly Speaking (Korea) in eighth place (1.2M views).

Fans were still in the mood for love on the Non-English Films List. The romantic comedy Honeymoonish (Kuwait) debuted at #1 with 14M views, the romantic drama The Tearsmith (Italy) claimed #5 (1.9M views), and the romantic comedy Love, Divided (Spain) came in at #8 (1.3M views).
