Washington Post Live continues expansion of live programming in New York City with women-focused climate news event

Washington Post Live today announced the expansion of their popular “This is Climate” series to New York City, following live programs in Mexico City and Seoul. On Monday, September 18 at 3:30 p.m. ET, moderators Jonathan Capehart, Juliet Eilperin and Frances Stead Sellers will hear from women who are reshaping climate leadership around the world as policymakers, scientists and activists on the frontlines.

The program will feature in-depth discussions with USAID administrator Samantha Power, former Irish president Mary Robinson, Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall, climate justice activist Ayisha Siddiqa and scientists Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katharine Hayhoe about innovative solutions to tackle a warming planet, the latest global efforts to curb carbon emissions and how women have been disproportionately affected by the climate crisis.

“Our ‘This is Climate’ special event in New York provides a vibrant opportunity for audiences to connect face-to-face to address the challenges of climate change,” said Katherine O’Hearn, executive producer of Washington Post Live. “Women are uniquely impacted by climate change and our top tier lineup of key policymakers, innovative thinkers and changemakers on the frontlines will provide rich insight, thoughtful analysis and cutting-edge solutions.”

Ecolab Water for Climate is the presenting sponsor of “This is Climate” in New York. This program is also produced in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation.
