BMG artists and songwriters have scored nominations in multiple categories for the 2024 BRIT Awards, Britain’s most prestigious night in music. This year’s BRIT Awards are taking place on March 2 at London’s The O2 Arena and will be broadcast live on ITV1.
Award-winning global superstar and BMG recording artist Kylie Minogue is nominated for the first time in 13 years for the highly coveted International Artist of the Year after a year of huge successes including the release of her Number One album, Tension. Alongside Minogue is Irish singer-songwriter and Choice Music Prize Album of the Year winner, and BMG publishing client, CMAT.
Nominated for Alternative Rock Act are BMG songwriters Blur (featuring BMG songwriter Dave Rowntree), Bring Me The Horizon, and The Rolling Stones who in 2023 released their first new studio album since 2005, Hackney Diamonds. The album reached the Top 10 in 32 countries around the world with 20 of those being at Number One.
In the Song of the Year with Mastercard category, BMG songwriters were recognized for their contributions to four songs including ‘Dancing is Healing’ from Rudimental with Charlotte Plank and Vibe Chemistry co-written by BMG songwriters Sarah Blanchard, Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), and Sarah Sheldrake; ‘Boy’s A Liar Pt. 2’ from PinkPantheress and Ice Spice co-written by BMG’s Mura Masa, ‘Who Told You’ from J Hus co-written by BMG songwriter EY, and ‘Wish You The Best’ from global star and BMG publishing client Lewis Capaldi off his 2023 Number One album, Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.
Additional nominations for BMG songwriters include Blur and K-Trap (as Headie One & K-Trap) who received nominations for Group of the Year as well as Hal David in the International Song of the Year category for Doja Cat’s ‘Paint The Town Red’.
Rounding off a successful year with a nomination in the highly sought-after Mastercard Album of the Year category are Blur with The Ballad of Darren and BMG songwriters EY, TSB, and AOD who co-wrote J Hus’ album Beautiful And Brutal Yard. TSB has also been recently nominated for a MOBO Award for Best Producer which marks the producers fourth nomination in the category.
The BRIT Awards 2024 with Mastercard will take place on March 2 – once again back in a primetime Saturday night slot – and will broadcast live in the UK on ITV1 and ITVX – from The O2 arena.
