Top 10 Week of Feb. 19: ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and ‘Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa’ Debut at #1

After just four days, Avatar: The Last Airbender is an “immediate sensation.” The series debuted atop the English TV List with 21.2M views and reached the Top 10 in 92 countries. In the lead-up to the release of the highly-anticipated live-action reimagining of the beloved animated series, fans – including superfan Serena Williams – were treated to sneak-peek scenes and a takeover of Sphere in Las Vegas.

Valentine’s Day may be over, but love was still in the air as Tyler Perry’s Mea Culpa, the steamy thriller starring Kelly Rowland, topped the English Films List, with 16M views. One Day, the limited series adapted from David Nicholls’ beloved romance novel, which recently returned to The Sunday Times Bestseller List, came in at #2 (7.5M views) on the English TV List. Season 6 of the fan-favorite dating experiment Love is Blind (7.5M views) followed at #3. On the English Films List, the romantic comedy feature Players starring Gina Rodriguez and Damon Wayans Jr. (7.4M views) grabbed the #2 spot.

Fans were in the mood for survival thrillers over on the Non-English Films List. Natural disaster thriller The Abyss (Sweden) kept the top spot (22.3M views); and two-time Oscar® nominee Society of the Snow (Spain), from director J.A. Bayona, spent its eighth week on the list (2.1M views).

The thriller House of Ninjas (Japan) muscled into the lead spot on the Non-English TV List (4.5M views). Season 3 of the gritty thriller Good Morning, Veronica (Brazil) took fifth place in its second week on the list (2M views), and Season 1 returned to the list in tenth place (1.1M views).
