NEW YORK – December 4, 2024 – NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show outright last week, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in total viewers and the key demo. This marks TODAY’s fifth consecutive weekly total viewer win, its longest streak since December 2019. TODAY was the only morning program to grow across the board versus the prior week and year. Additionally, TODAY hit a 53-week high in total viewership and posted its biggest total viewer win over GMA since the Paris Olympics.
Last week, The 3rd Hour of TODAY also posted its biggest viewership in the key demo and total viewers, hitting a 45-week high, and TODAY with Hoda & Jenna grew in the key demo versus the prior week and year.
Season to date, TODAY is the top-rated morning show in A25-54, more than doubling its advantage over GMA versus the prior year. This is TODAY’s best key demo start to a season compared to GMA in 8 seasons. In addition, TODAY has cut the total viewer gap with GMA by 99% versus last season, narrowing to its closest margin in 13 years.
