The Washington Post announces 2024 Summer Intern Class

The Washington Post is pleased to announce its 2024 summer intern class. For more than 60 years, the newsroom’s summer internship program has welcomed talented student journalists to work alongside the world’s best journalists producing consequential work with far-reaching impact. Two interns have been named Bradlee Fellows, in recognition of the courage and integrity that legendary Washington Post Executive Editor Benjamin C. Bradlee instilled in his newsroom, and we will welcome our third Military Veterans in Journalism Fellow.

Here are The Washington Post 2024 summer interns:

  • Sofia Andrade, who was a summer 2023 reporting intern, is a senior at Harvard University and will return to Features.
  • Kelsey Baker, a graduate student at Northwestern University, is the Military Veterans in Journalism Fellow and will be reporting on the General Assignment news desk.
  • Sapna Bansil, who was a 2023 fall reporting intern, is a graduate student at the University of Maryland and will return to Sports.
  • Aden Barton, a senior at Harvard University, will intern in Opinions.
  • Ali Bianco, a senior at Northwestern University, will intern in Audio.
  • Jordan Brown, a graduate student at New York University, will be a reporting intern in Metro.
  • Chloe Ha, a junior at Stanford University, will intern on the News Analytics and Insights team.
  • Kim Jao, a junior at Northwestern University, will intern on the Curation and Platforms team.
  • Grant Johnson, who was a summer 2023 editing Dow Jones News Fund intern, is a senior at James Madison University, and will return to the News Multiplatform Editing desk.
  • Alisa Kaff, a senior at Columbia University, will intern in Video.
  • Fiza Kuzhiyil, who was a 2023 editing intern in Opinions, is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin and will return to Opinions.
  • Eric Lau, a senior at the University of Michigan, will intern in Graphics.
  • Jiselle Lee, a senior at the University of Florida, will be a reporting intern on the General Assignment news desk.
  • Aaditi Lele, a senior at Vanderbilt University, will intern in Opinions.
  • Nicole Markus, a junior at Northwestern University, is a Bradlee Fellow and will be a reporting intern in National.
  • Rana Nejad, a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, will intern in Opinions.
  • Sarah Raza, a graduate student at Stanford University, will be a reporting intern in Climate and Environment.
  • Karla Marie Sanford, a graduate student at Columbia University, will be a reporting intern in Well+Being.
  • Anika Seth, a junior at Yale University, will be a reporting intern in International.
  • Varun Shankar, a high school sports reporter and news aide, is a senior at the University of Maryland and will intern in Sports.
  • Grace Smith, a senior at the University of Iowa, will intern in Photography.
  • Jasper Smith, a 2023 Fall intern and senior at Howard University, will return to the News Multiplatform Editing desk.
  • Alina Spatz, a senior at the Rhode Island School of Design, will intern in Design.
  • Emma Uber, a senior at Indiana University, is a Bradlee Fellow and will be a reporting intern in Metro.
  • Susan Webb, a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will intern in Data.
  • Trinity Webster-Bass, who was a 2023 fall intern, is a senior at Howard University and will return to Audio.
  • Hannah Ziegler, a senior at The University of Maryland, will be a reporting intern in Business.
