The Washington Post and Compass Coffee today announced the release of “The Post Roast,” a collaborative coffee blend in celebration of The 7, The Post’s flagship newsletter and podcast for busy, on-the-go readers and listeners.
The 7 newsletter reaches over 1 million subscribers, while the podcast was featured as Apple’s top series of 2022.
“Mornings are always a busy time, and pairing coffee with a succinct news briefing like The 7 newsletter and podcast is a match made in heaven,” said Kathy Baird, Chief Communications Officer at The Washington Post. “We’re proud to partner with our neighbors at Compass to make a difference in the lives of busy Washingtonians as they get ready for the day ahead.”
“The Post Roast” contains hints of dark chocolate and toasted nuts, with a balanced blend that is empowering, eye-opening and illuminating. To complete the package, the coffee tin features a commissioned illustration by artist Raul Urias, complete with a QR code to access The 7.
“At Compass Coffee, we believe that each cup of coffee is an opportunity to inspire you and ignite your day with purpose,” says Joel Shetterly, CMO. “The Washington Post’s The 7 does the same, providing concise, vital news and leaving you ready for whatever the day brings. Partnering with The Washington Post to create ‘The Post Roast’ feels like a natural extension of our mission–we are thrilled to bring this incredibly special blend to Post readers across America.”
The limited-time coffee blend will be available for sale online at compasscoffee.com and at all 16 Compass stores, including its Franklin Square location at The Post’s headquarters.
