Sara Beth Yurow Unveils Debut EP "Mischievous"

A musical journey through persistence and resilience

Emerging singer-songwriter Sara Beth Yurow released her highly anticipated debut EP, “Mischievous,” a captivating collection of six eclectic tracks that showcase her raw talent and artistic evolution. The EP, recorded primarily at producer Natalia Bortolotti’s studio in Eagle Rock, Los Angeles, captures the essence of Sara Beth’s journey through the challenges of the pandemic while juggling her roles as a nurse and aspiring musician.

In the midst of the pandemic’s uncertainty, Sara Beth found solace in her music, turning to recording sessions with Natalia Bortolotti as a beacon of light during some of the darkest moments of her life. Living alone in Los Angeles while battling COVID, Sara Beth overcame adversity and collaborated with Natalia to produce an EP that reflects her resilience and determination.

The title of the EP, “Mischievous,” draws inspiration from Sara Beth’s Hawaiian name, “Makale’a,” meaning “mischievous eyes.” Each song in the EP offers a unique perspective on Sara Beth’s personality, creating a diverse and authentic musical experience.

One of the standout tracks, “Twenty One Night Stands,” is a deceptively wholesome electropop piece that explores the journey of leaving behind a troubled past for the sake of love. The EP also includes the widely acclaimed “Spin” and the guitar-filled anthem “Don’t Wanna Be Strong,” reflecting on the challenges of always doing the right thing.

Sara Beth takes listeners on a heartfelt journey with the piano ballad “What About,” addressing the consequences of judgment based on appearances. “Cuz I’m in Luv” brings out Sara Beth’s island roots, featuring her playing the ‘ukulele and offering a nostalgic look at daydreams of love. The EP concludes with the extended, original version of “Twenty One Night Stands,” presenting a fuller picture of Sara Beth’s artistic vision.

Reflecting on the release, Sara Beth says, “I’ve dreamt of releasing an album since I started writing music at ten. ‘Mischievous’ is a culmination of my best work to date, representing different facets of my personality and experiences. It’s a dream come true for me, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”

“Mischievous” by Sara Beth Yurow dropped on January 26, and fans can look forward to a musical journey that encapsulates the essence of resilience, passion, and the pursuit of dreams.
