Ryan Alexander put Glasgow on the Afrobeat map with ‘Me & You’

After making his live debut, receiving plaudits from BBC Introducing and airplay from several radio stations Glasgow producer and DJ, Ryan Alexander is one of the hottest names emerging from the UK EDM underground in 2024.

His seminal single, Me & You, produced by Steven Alexander, synthesises the influence of Fuse EDG and OMI to animate a swathed-in-tropic-soul Afrobeat earworm which rhythmically hooks you in through organic percussion and works its way into the psyche with the vocal sincerity and sensuously smooth lyricality.

The euphonically layered radio-ready production is set to put Glasgow on the Afrobeat map and catapult Ryan Alexander into the spotlight as it ripples across the airwaves.

Ryan Alexander said:

“I’ve always loved Afrobeat and dance music; I was scrolling through samples one day and found inspiration in a sample and I just went from there to construct the track which delivers undiluted good summer vibes.”

Amelia Vandergast, Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

“Ryan Alexander’s discography is hotter than Ibiza this summer; jump on the hype – if you can handle the heat.”

About

I started learning the decks with my cousin two years ago, we went to pirate studios countless times to practice before I invested in a home studio. Shortly after, we started performing live in Glasgow in iconic venues like Hummingbird and October Café.

Once I’d cut my teeth as a DJ, I honed my talents as a producer before launching my first house track, Can You Feel It, in March 2024. For my sophomore release, I experimented with an Afrobeat palette before breaking EDM ground with Power in Your Soul, unveiling a definitive house anthem with Jump High Jump In, and bringing the disco-funk with Stay the Night. My latest single, Elysium, is a transcendent summer anthem, wrapped in a fusionist amalgamation of everything I’ve brought to the airwaves with my previous releases.
