WEIN OVERSEES CLIENTS MORGAN NAGLER, MADDIE ZAHM, JORDY, PARSON JAMES AND MORE VIA PRESCRIPTION SONGS NASHVILLE OFFICE
Leading independent publishing company PRESCRIPTION SONGS announces the recent promotion for Rachel Wein to Senior Director of A&R. During her 7+ years with Prescription, Wein has helped the Nashville roster grow to include over 30 Nashville-based songwriters, artists, and producers (totaling over 150 acts within the entire company).
In this new elevated role, Rachel will continue to oversee an exciting roster of talented artists, songwriters and producers. Included in this group is Morgan Nagler, who is most widely recognized for co-writing “Kyoto” with Phoebe Bridgers–garnering a GRAMMY nomination–and some early releases with HAIM. Under Rachel’s guidance, Morgan has had recent releases with mxmtoon, Astrid S, Stephen Dawes, Misterwives, Maddie Zahm, Willie Watson (of Old Crow Medicine Show) and more.
Rachel has also found a knack for artist development, playing an essential role in emerging acts like Maddie Zahm, JORDY, Greyson Chance and Parson James. Other key clients include James Droll (Noah Kahan, Joy Oladokun, ELIO) and Tim Gent (Dreamville, Tone Stith, Chiiild). Wein also oversees producers Sean Small (Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, Breland), JT Daly (Dhruv, Astrid S, Tai Verdes), Jon Santana (Snow Wife, SuperM) and Spellz (Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido), among others.
“It’s been an honor to watch Rachel grow into the executive she has become today,” shares Katie Fagan, Prescription Songs’ Head of A&R, Nashville. “She has been an integral part of our growth as a team here in Nashville and I’m looking forward to seeing her win big in the coming years.”
Rachel adds, “The company culture and clientele at Prescription is simply unmatched. We are encouraged to take risks and focus on quality, innovative art that pushes the boundaries. I look forward to many more years of working alongside the best in the business!”
After graduating from Boston University with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology & Special Education, Rachel decided to apply her skillset to a new medium, writer/producer/artist development. Wein joined Prescription Songs in 2017 as the first hire in their Nashville office.
Wein’s passion for music goes hand in hand with her long-term commitment to community building, education, and non-profit work. She serves on leadership boards for Family Alliance in Music and Salt Lick Incubator. Wein was recently invited to be on the steering committee for Belmont University’s Center for Mental Health in Entertainment. Additionally, Rachel is an active member of The Recording Academy (Class of 2022), the Association of Independent Music Publishers, The Other Nashville Society and serves on the Salt Lick Incubator Leadership Council.
Outside of music, Wein serves as a mentor for LGBTQ+ youth in the foster care system via Youth Villages. She was also honored with the Marchetti Impact Award for her fundraising work with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
