Note from Will Lewis: Enhancing our communications

2023 Siena International Photo awards for Post photojournalists

Announcement from Publisher and CEO William Lewis:

On Monday, the Fix It Group Leaders presented their strategies and ideas to the leadership team. Soon, you will all be hearing how these have helped to form the basis of our plan for our Build It phase.

A common theme for each Fix It Group has been the need for more communication, clarity and transparency.

I am therefore delighted to announce that Kathy Baird, Chief Communications Officer is going to focus on creating an enhanced communications offering, both internally and externally. Kathy has been instrumental in supporting the Fix It Groups and the creation of our Post Connect monthly forums. This new approach to communications will be crucial for our next phase.

Kathy will also now formally lead our internal communications efforts to align with our external communications strategy, creating consistency, engagement and transparency for us all.

Importantly, Kathy will spearhead the development of a talent management practice. Again, through our Fix It efforts, we have identified that our journalists and personalities are one of our best assets. The talent management practice will focus on a sophisticated plan to build our personalities’ profiles, external presence and engagement across multiple media platforms in pursuit of magnifying our journalism even more.

And finally, Kathy will continue to lead and reimagine our Press Freedom Partnership efforts, furthering our commitments to a free and independent press both here and abroad.

As we unveil our plan for The Post next month, Kathy will play a crucial role. She will continue to report to me and serve as a key collaborator across all divisions.

Please join me in congratulating Kathy.
