Ranks as #1 Afternoon News Program on All of TV Season-to-Date
August 27, 2024 — NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on network television in the key demo last week during its timeslot, according to Nielsen Media Research.
Winning the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos for the fourth straight week of head-to-head competition, NBC News Daily averages 208,000 A25-54 viewers, leading GMA3 by +20,000 (+11%).
Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of TV in the key A25-54 demo, ahead of GMA3. NBC News Daily also leads all CNN hours in both the key demo and total viewers, as well as all Fox News hours in the key demo, during the 12-4 p.m. daypart. Season-to-date, NBC News Daily’s total viewership has grown by +3% year-over-year.
Averaging 1.099 million total viewers, NBC News Daily is the only broadcast to increase total viewers versus the prior year with +12,000 (+1%), narrowing its gap with GMA3 by 66%.
NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Kate Snow, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen and Zinhle Essamuah anchor from 12-4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, and depending on location, U.S. markets receive one of the four hours on their local NBC broadcast stations.
