Ranks as #1 Afternoon News Program on All of TV Season-to-Date
January 7, 2025 — NBC News Daily finished off 2024 as #1 in the key A25-54 demo for the broadcast year, Q4 and December, according to Nielsen. NBC News Daily marked its first back-to-back quarterly win and biggest demo advantage over GMA3 on record in Q4. In addition, December marked the program’s eighth consecutive monthly key demo win.
For the first week of 2025, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on network television in the key demo during its timeslot.
Winning the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos for the week, NBC News Daily averages 282,000 key A25-54 viewers, leading GMA3 by +21,000 (+8%). This marks NBC News Daily’s second consecutive weekly win in the key A25-54 demo.
Season-to-date, NBC News Daily is the #1 afternoon news program on all of TV in the key A25-54 demo, ahead of GMA3.
Since its premiere in September 2022, NBC News Daily has ranked ahead of CNN every week during the 12-4 p.m. ET daypart in total viewers and the key A25-54 demo. For the fourth consecutive week, NBC News Daily outperformed Fox News’ 12-4 p.m. ET daypart in the key A25-54 demo. NBC News Daily also reached a 50-week high in total viewership, averaging 1.328 million total viewers.
NBC News Daily reaches even more viewers on its NBC News NOW streaming platform. Kate Snow, Morgan Radford, Vicky Nguyen and Zinhle Essamuah anchor from 12-4 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, and depending on location, U.S. markets receive one of the four hours on their local NBC broadcast stations.
