Brassic favourite Ryan Sampson’s series becomes Sky’s top new comedy in three years
September 5, 2024 — Danny Dyer (Eastenders, The Business) and Brassic favourite Ryan Sampson (Plebs) will return in a new series of Sky Original Mr Bigstuff. The comedy, about estranged brothers Glen (Sampson) and Lee (Dyer), has been commissioned after the first outing became Sky Max’s highest-rating new original comedy for three years.
All episodes of the smash-hit comedy are currently available to view on Sky and streaming service NOW, with news of the second coming hot on the heels of the cliff-hanger series one finale. Fans can also see Ryan in Brassic 6 this September on Sky and NOW.
The comedy about carpet salesman Glen (Sampson) who faces chaos when his estranged brother Lee (Dyer) turns up unexpectedly and starts to disrupt his ideal suburban life, has been a hit with audiences who rapidly binged Sampson’s self-penned series. Filming for the new series will start later this year in London and Essex and is set to launch on Sky and NOW in 2025.
Creator and star Ryan Sampson, who shared the news, said; “Mr BigStuff series 2: filthy secrets, dirty lies. Someone’s gonna have to come clean.”
Harriet Webb (Big Boys) will reprise her role as Kirsty, Glen’s down-on-her-luck but loveable fiancée, staring alongside Ryan and Danny with further cast to be announced.
Executive Producers include Anil Gupta and Jon Mountague for Sky Studios, Tom Miller and Sam Myer for Water & Power Productions. The new series is created and authored by Ryan Sampson with Hayley Sterling from Sky Studios producing.
