Outperforms ABC’s “This Week” in key demo for 7^th consecutive week

Dec. 12, 2023 — Meet the Press with Kristen Welker (MTP) was the #1 Sunday public affairs show in the key demo this past Sunday, Dec. 10, according to data from Nielsen Media Research. 

Following Sunday’s win and three straight monthly wins among viewers aged 25-54, MTP now ranks #1 season-to-date in the demo most valued by news advertisers.

#1 in the Key Demo This Past Sunday 

MTP ranked #1 in the A25-54 demo this past Sunday, averaging 468,000 A25-54 viewers and leading ABC’s This Week by +100,000 (+27%) and CBS’s Face the Nation by +50,000 (+12%). 

MTP has outperformed ABC for seven straight weeks in the key demo, marking MTP’s longest win streak over ABC in over three years.

MTP also posted its highest total viewer audience in nearly two months, averaging 2.692 million viewers and outperforming ABC by +383,000 (+17%) on ABC and trailing CBS, which continues to rate for just 30 minutes of its hour-long program, by just 3% (91,000 viewers). An additional 387,000 viewers and 118,000 A25-54 viewers watched the Sunday program through a rebroadcast on NBC. 

Sunday’s broadcast featured exclusive interviews with Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) and Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn). 

Reaches over 2.5M Views on Digital

MTP reached 2.6 million video views this past week, a 53% improvement over the week prior. Audiences watched 281,000 hours of MTP content – a yearly increase of nearly 50% that continues to show MTP’s dominance against the competition on digital platforms. 

113,000 viewers watched Sunday’s full broadcast on YouTube.

Beats the Competition Combined in the Nation’s Capital

MTP ranked #1 across the board in the influential Washington, D.C. market on Sunday, and beat the competition combined among A25-54 and total viewers. The win continues an eight-year streak in which MTP has not lost a single Sunday in total viewers.
