LOS ANGELES SINGER-SONGWRITER-GUITARIST DAVID HAERLE RELEASES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO “HIDDEN TREASURE”

Los Angeles singer-songwriter-guitarist DAVID HAERLE released his latest single and music video “Hidden Treasure” today, June 28. The lively and upbeat jam features Haerle’s signature authentic songwriting coupled with a funky groove and jazz flavor sure to get you moving. The music video was shot in Egypt, directed by Egyptian cinematographer Mazen Bayoumy and starring his younger brother Yassin Bayoumy. The song challenges and reminds the listener of the hidden treasures to be found within people if we take the time to look for them.

“My spiritual mentor, the late Terry Richey, once relayed his belief to me that within all people lie treasures of sorts,” Haerle explains of the song. “He was referring to treasures of the spirit, our human qualities, our individual stories, trials or burdens we have faced, those we have overcome and those we have yet to overcome, or, perhaps, those past difficulties we are just coping with in some way. According to his belief, these treasures may not always be readily apparent and might take time to see. Although they lay within all people, sometimes they are hidden or a little harder to find.

“‘Hidden Treasure’ is about keeping that in mind. It is about taking the time to talk with people, asking an extra question or two, and going beyond our initial judgments of others, which may only be surface deep. It’s about making a habit of looking for such treasure. The rewards can be significant. Is there anything like human connection?”

David, who sings lead and plays electric and acoustic rhythm guitars, is joined here by his longtime band–Carson Cohen (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), Reade Pryor (drums, percussion) and Jose Salazar (keyboards). Special guest Andrew Pask is featured on saxophone. The track was written and produced by David himself, alongside co-producer/mixer/engineer and frequent collaborator Jose Salazar, with additional engineering by Reade Pryor.

The song and video first premiered exclusively with V13 Media, who wrote “Haerle has shown that you can get started at any age and still have a successful, fulfilling career. The singer-songwriter has been remarkably productive over the last few years… It’s been an unconventional road to now for David Haerle. But he wants you to know that deciding the road you travel is up to you. Not anyone else.” It’s his unique journey, narrative-driven storytelling and unwavering passion for making music that makes Haerle’s releases special.

His previous album releases, 2023’s El Camino Sierra, 2020’s Death Valley and 2018’s Garden of Edendale, have all been well reviewed amongst many notable music publications including: Billboard, American Songwriter, Goldmine, Under The Radar, Glide Magazine, Rock and Roll Globe, Americana Highways, Elmore Magazine and others.

David Haerle grew up surrounded by music and the music business. His father Martin emigrated from Germany to pursue a dream of working in the country music industry and co-founded the independent label CMH Records (Country Music Heritage). His maternal grandparents co-owned the first full time country music radio station in Nashville, WENO. The King of Country Music, Roy Acuff, took him onstage at the Grand Ole’ Opry before a full house when he was 9 years of age. After picking up the guitar at age 13, he played in rock and alternative new wave bands during the 80’s, before becoming a music agent at ICM. Then his father passed away suddenly and at just 24 years-old, David took over the family business and has served as president of CMH Records, now CMH Label Group, ever since.

But David never stopped playing guitar. In 2011, he decided to record and release his first full length album. He began in earnest and the project would ultimately take him roughly 7 years to finish. Garden of Edendale was released in the summer of 2018. His second album, Death Valley, was released in the spring of 2020. His third album, El Camino Sierra, was released in April 2023. His fourth LP is set to be released early next year.
