Celebrated for her unique ability to “tap into the threshold of meditative consciousness, where our wakened senses stay in communication with the oneirological orchestrations from dreams and visions” (Week In Pop), Taylor’s recent album, Amphora (Lily Taylor Music), has solidified her reputation as a pioneering artist in the ambient music scene.
This nomination follows Taylor’s win for Best Experimental Act at last year’s Dallas Entertainment Awards. Beyond her nomination, Taylor will co-present the Best New Artist and Artist of the Year awards during this year’s ceremony.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Performance and Composition of Contemporary Music from the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico in 2004, focusing on vocal studies. She spent years refining her craft as a professional musician, arts administrator, and private teacher in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and San Francisco, California. Taylor’s critically acclaimed debut solo album, The Ride, was released in 2014 during her time in Dallas, Texas.
Her latest album, Amphora, released in 2023, continues to receive widespread acclaim, showcasing her ability to blend intricate soundscapes with evocative vocal performances. In addition to her music career, Taylor is a dedicated private voice instructor and hosts the popular radio show BandWidthTX on 92.9FM KUZU LP Denton, Texas, airing every 2nd and 4th Tuesday from 7-8 PM CST.
