For the first time in almost two decades, UK viewers can experience the glitz and the glamour of the Oscars® completely free and exclusively on ITV1 and ITVX with a raft of programming to celebrate the highly anticipated awards.
On the grand night itself, Sunday 10th March, at 10.30pm viewers can join Jonathan Ross live on ITV1 and ITVX for The Oscars as he hosts the ultimate Oscars party with a special show bringing all of Hollywood’s action to UK viewers (all ITV1 content will be available on STV and STV Player), where he’ll be joined by a panel of movie-loving stars and special guests.
Preceding The Oscars, viewers will be able to get swept up in all of the Hollywood glamour with the official stream of the Oscars red carpet live show on ITVX exclusively for the UK from 9.30pm, with Ross King broadcasting directly from the event at the Dolby® Theatre in LA.
In exciting sneak peeks, viewers can also delve into brand new, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, which is only available to watch in the UK on ITVX, which will be loaded onto the platform throughout the night.
The next day, continue to enjoy awards season, either by streaming the full ceremony over breakfast or with a 90-minute highlights package of the ceremony, airing on ITV1 at 10.45pm on Monday 11th March. Plus this will be available to stream on the ITVX pop up Oscars page (both versions will remain available for three weeks).
ITV will be warming up for the big night with a raft of content, kicking off on Tuesday January 23rd, for the global stream of the Oscars nominations live on ITVX [timings to be confirmed in due course]. Hosted by ITV News broadcaster Charlene White with Arts Editor Nina Nannar, they’ll delve into the runners and riders and guide viewers through events as the cream of the Hollywood crop find out who is in with a chance of scooping a famed gold statuette.
From the 26th February warm up for the awards with a carefully curated, dedicated FAST channel on ITVX. It will feature Oscar®-nominated films from the past, including Monster’s Ball, Winter’s Bone, Adaptation, Bugsy Malone, Black Narcissus and Precious.
Plus, get the inside track from Jonathan Ross in an Oscars special of his Must-Watch Films show.
Throughout the run up to the 96th Oscars, Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning, Loose Women and ITV News will cover the latest Oscars news and explore the build up to the biggest night in the film calendar.
Film fans can also enjoy a plethora of bespoke short-form content on ITVX, which includes nominee profiles and features exploring the various VIP Oscars events. There will also be a collection of Oscar-winning and Oscar-nominated films available to stream 24/7 on ITVX including Chicago, Flashdance, Ghost, Henry V, No Country For Old Men, Pulp Fiction and more.
