13 BMG songwriters have achieved over 500 million streams each on Spotify during 2023 with five achieving over 1 billion streams on the platform. In addition to Spotify’s annual Wrapped round-ups aimed at service users and recorded artists is Spotify’s Wrapped round-up for registered songwriters with dedicated ‘Written By’ playlists which Spotify describes as, “fan-facing versions of Songwriter Pages. They increase exposure to new audiences, deepen relationships with current fans, and maximize discoverability on Spotify by allowing listeners to hear career-spanning works.”
Topping the list for 2023 with over 4 billion streams is award winning rapper Juice WRLD with 122 works from across his career including his Number One album Death Race For Love and his Number One posthumous album Legends Never Die.
He is followed by Bebe Rexha who boasts 1.5 billion streams with her playlist of 82 songs including her hit ‘I’m Good (Blue)’ with David Guetta which topped Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart for over a year and has spent 66 weeks in the chart since it was released in 2022.
Also featured in the round-up with over 1 billion streams each are BMG songwriters KAMILLE (Little Mix, Raye, James Arthur, Sia), Victoria Monét (Ariana Grande, Chris Brown, Nas), and RØMANS (Lewis Capaldi, Rita Ora, Khalid, Pink).
Grammy Award-winning American songwriter Diane Warren follows at over 950 million streams with her legendary multi-decade spanning songbook including hits including ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ performed by Cher, ‘Un-Break My Heart’ performed by Toni Braxton, and ‘I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing’ performed by Aerosmith.
