The Setup:
Every episode focuses on a different year and special story. The cast members take inspiration from that era and often dress up as iconic individuals from that time. At the beginning of each episode, the 6 members are split up into 2 teams. It varies every episode and sometimes there are guest cast members, so there’s variety in the teams. While the teams play against each other, there are also individual goals and benefits. Individual team members often have secret identities and agendas that they are playing for in addition to the team goals.
How to Play:
The members look for clues by checking out each team’s apartments. Looking for hints, they piece together the mystery behind the special story for each episode. Every episode also introduces different games that the teams play in order to win extra clues or advantages. It’s a race against each team and against each other, as they do their best to win the game and solve the mystery.
Episode 1 Mini Recap:
The very first episode focuses on a story from 1998 which involves something shocking being discovered at an apartment construction site. Members were divided into the Yu team (Yu Jae Seok, Yang Se Chan, and JENNIE) and the Cha team (Cha Tae Hyun, Oh Na Ra, and Lee Jung Ha). The two teams discover clues and figure out what was discovered at the apartment construction site. However, they realize a surprising twist when they find out about a secret mission. Episode 2 Mini Recap:
Episode 2 takes us further into the past, back to 1986. The teams are switched up a bit with the Yu team (Yu Jae Seok, JENNIE, and Lee Jung Ha) and the Cha team (Cha Tae Hyun, Oh Na Ra, and Yang Se Chan. This episode’s mystery is about a missing female student. It’s a race against each other to uncover the truth about her disappearance and the guilty parties. The third episode covers the period between 1999 and 2000 when the world was worried about the millennium bug. With the public concerned about Y2K, there were a lot of end-of-the-world cases and problems. The teams were split up by age group this time with the Yu team (Yu Jae Seok, Cha Tae Hyun, and Oh Na Ra) and the Yang team (Yang Se Chan, JENNIE, and Lee Jung Ha). The fourth episode is set in the 1970s and highlights the issue of smuggling. It also featured a special guest, Yeonjun of TXT, who filled in for Lee Jung Ha. For the first time, the members are not split up into families, instead they are divided by their roles. Oh Na Ra, Yang Se Chan, and Yeonjun are traders within the Traders team. Yu Jae Seok is the mayor, Cha Tae Hyun is the customs official, and JENNIE is the police within the Officials team.
