Gitesh Gohel named Head of Product & Design

Announcement from Executive Editor Sally Buzbee and Chief Technology Officer Vineet Khosla:

We are pleased to announce Gitesh Gohel as our new Head of Product & Design.

In our search for this role, we knew The Post would benefit from a savvy product pro with deep industry expertise and a keen understanding of what it means to innovate with speed and intention.

It quickly became apparent that this pro was someone already familiar to The Post: some of you may know Gitesh through his work here as a contractor over the past couple of months. As we learned more about his range and experience, he immediately emerged as the natural choice to lead Product & Design. Paired with his proven commitment to mentor and coach in the industry, Gitesh’s leadership will be critical in building The Post to become an essential daily reader habit.

Gitesh will lead the strategic direction, development and design of The Post’s digital products as an integral player in our reimagined efforts between News, Product and Engineering to create, collaborate and build news products of the future.

He will report to both of us in our roles as Chief Technology Officer and Executive Editor, a key distinction as we lay the groundwork to better serve our audience and envision our product totality.

Gitesh joins The Post with extensive experience leading product and design teams: He most recently served as Vice President of Product at SpeakEasy AI, creating the company’s community centric AI-native conversation and moderation products. Prior to SpeakEasy, Gitesh helped lead CNN’s CNN+ launch efforts as its Senior Direct of Product Initiative. His previous work also includes unmatched experience in building and leading product growth for top start-ups to become recognized and valued by world-class technology companies, including for GIPHY (acquired by Meta), Brigade (“acquihired” by Pinterest) and Tumblr (acquired by Yahoo!).

Gitesh will start his role on April 8. Please join us in welcoming him officially to The Post.
