ITV Studios today announced at MIPCOM, the compelling thriller After The Flood, written by acclaimed screenwriter Mick Ford (Stay Close, Living the Dream and The Stranger) produced by Quay Street Productions and BritBox International for ITV, has pre-sold to FTV in France.
In the six-part series, the mystery unfolds when the town of Waterside is hit with the largest flood in its history, the community pulls together to keep everyone safe. However, three people die – one, an unidentified man, is found in a lift in the basement of an apartment block. Police assume he became trapped as the waters rose – but when the autopsy reveals he died several days earlier, PC Jo Marshall becomes obsessed with discovering the truth. How did he get in the lift, who put him there, and why does no one know who he is? After the Flood is a climate change mystery thriller set in a town where floods threaten to expose the green-washing deceptions of developers and local politicians. Fortunes and reputations are at stake, but how far have they gone to protect them already – and how far will they go in the future?
