NEW YORK — December 18, 2023 – FOX News Channel (FNC) has promoted Gillian Turner to a dual role as anchor and State Department and foreign policy correspondent. In this capacity, Turner will cover international and domestic issues at the U.S. State Department.
Originally joining the network in 2014 as a contributor, Turner was promoted to correspondent in 2018. In this capacity, she has covered numerous breaking news stories for the network, such as the first indictment of former President Trump, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the COVID-19 pandemic, the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi and the Black Lives Matter protests in Washington, DC. She has also frequently served as a substitute anchor on several news programs, including FOX News Sunday, Special Report, America’s Newsroom and America Reports. Most recently, she anchored special coverage surrounding the October 7th Hamas terror attacks on Israel.
Before joining the network, Turner served as Vice President of Jones Group International, where she worked directly with former National Security Adviser Jim Jones. Previously, she worked at the White House National Security Council during the presidential administrations of George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Notably, Turner was one of the youngest recipients to receive the National Security Council Outstanding Service Award for her work during the Bush administration as a research assistant in the Office of the National Security Adviser.
Turner graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in comparative politics and holds a master’s degree in African security studies from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
