FOX NEWS DIGITAL ENDS 2022 AS THE TOP NEWS BRAND WITH MULTIPLATFORM VIEWS AND MINUTES 

FBN Outpaces Competition Across Total Day and Primetime; Secures Top Two Business Programs with Viewers for 29th Consecutive Month

FBN’s Simulcast of ‘FOX Weather First’ Sees Highest Median Income Among 25-54 Demo

NEW YORK – July 30, 2024 — FOX Business Network (FBN) closed the month of July as the highest rated business network, outpacing its CNBC competition across total day and primetime hours, according to Nielsen Media Research. Notably, the network made history delivering its first ever monthly win in primetime viewers. FBN remained the go-to network for business news with the top two business programs with viewers for the 29th consecutive month and several programs notching their highest-rated months since 2022 and 2023.

Leading the month of July as business news’ highest-rated program, FBN’s Kudlow (weekdays, 4 PM/ET), helmed by Larry Kudlow, delivered 305,000 total viewers, a 77% advantage over CNBC’s 172,000 viewers. This marked the 34th consecutive month that Kudlow has outpaced CNBC’s Closing Bell and the program’s highest rated month since December 2022. FBN’s signature market-open program Varney & Co. (weekdays, 9 AM-12 PM/ET) placed second in the business program ranker with 219,000 viewers across its three hours, outperforming CNBC’s Money Movers/Squawk on the Street with a 16% advantage. 

Kicking off the day with pre-market coverage, Maria Bartiromo’s Mornings with Maria (weekdays, 6-9 AM/ET) averaged 105,000 viewers, besting CNBC by a 13% advantage. CAVUTO: Coast to Coast with Neil Cavuto (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 138,000 P2+), The Big Money Show (weekdays, 1 PM/ET; 125,000 P2+), Making Money with Charles Payne (weekdays 2 PM/ET; 137,000 P2+) and The Claman Countdown (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 142,000 P2+) all placed among the top 20 shows on business television with total viewers. Notably, The Evening Edit with Elizabeth MacDonald (weekdays, 5 PM/ET; 172,000 P2+) and The Bottom Line (weekdays, 6 PM/ET; 153,000) eclipsed CNBC’s respective programming with viewers for the fifth consecutive month. The Bottom Line also marked its highest rated month with viewers since April 2023. Additionally, Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street (Fridays, 7-7:30 PM/ET) posted its highest rated month since January 2023, nabbing 100,000 viewers, a 25% advantage over CNBC’s Last Call/Shark Tank.

Rounding out the month, FBN’s total day programming (135,000 P2+; 15,000 A25-54) scored a monthly win over CNBC. For the first time in network history, FBN delivered its first monthly win in primetime with total viewers and A35-64, nabbing 150,000 viewers, 33,000 A25-54 and 60,000 A35-64. The network’s market hours (9 AM-4 PM/ET) drew in 166,000 viewers and its business day programming (9:30 AM-5 PM/ET) saw 179,000 P2+; 10,000 A25-54.

FBN ended July delivering four of the top five cable news programs with affluent audiences among the 25-54 demo. FBN’s 5-6 AM simulcast of FOX Weather First co-anchored by Britta Merwin and Craig Herrera, which began on July 15th, drew in $250,700, the highest median income for July. Barron’s Roundtable followed with a median income of $204,600, CAVUTO: Coast to Coast saw $160,800 and Varney & Co. averaged a median income of $155,100. The Claman Countdown and Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street rounded out the top 20 programs with median incomes greater than $133,600
