Ervin Munir, the British singer-songwriter from Norfolk, is set to release his new single, “Happy Home,” on Friday, January 3, 2025. This latest release follows the success of his debut album, “Broken Compass,” and once again surprises listeners with its distinctive mix of folk, indie, and acoustic sounds.
“Happy Home” is a breakup song with a twist—infused with hope for reconciliation. It marks a bold new chapter in Ervin’s evolving music career. Created on the spot after a flash of inspiration, the song is based on the raw emotions of love and grief. Ervin recalls:
“I wanted to practice writing a song on demand. I decided to walk out of the hotel I was staying at and write about the first thing I saw that interested me. I saw a car pulling away with a woman in it.”
The track opens with a whisper melody, accompanied by Ervin’s signature acoustic guitar playing, setting a poignant tone. As the song progresses, subtle drums and vibrant guitar licks emerge, adding texture and edge. The result is a folk-rock earworm that lingers in your mind long after the music fades.
Known for his candid and personal songwriting, Ervin has been steadily building his reputation since he began working with producer Aeron Z Jones in August 2022. Their partnership has produced a string of successful singles, including “Chase The Moon,” “Felixstowe,” “Going Nowhere,” “My Heart,” “Did I Miss It,” and “Break Me.” In October 2022, Ervin sold out a concert in Sheringham, recorded “Carolynn” at the iconic Abbey Road Studios in London, and performed at The Camden Club in London.
