Singer-songwriter Ervin Munir from Norfolk is to release his poignant new single, “Felixstowe,” on Saturday, June 8th. This deeply moving breakup song tells a heart-breaking story and it stands out with an atmospheric sound, enhanced by a robust rhythmic backdrop.
“Felixstowe” initially conceived from an original chord progression ended up inspired by the timeless chords of Neil Young’s classic, “Old Man”. Ervin then developed it further, creating a unique offering of relatable lyrics and intricate musicality.
Ervin reflected on the creation of “Felixstowe” stating, “The song emerged from a very personal place. It captures the raw emotion and vulnerability that comes with the end of a relationship. The inspiration from ‘Old Man’ by Neil Young helped plant the seed and it allowed me to build something that feels both familiar and new.”
This new release follows in the footsteps of “Broken Compass,” and Ervin’s most recent single “Chase The Moon” which solidified his name within the folk community. As anticipation builds for this arrival, fans can also look forward to Ervin’s next album which is likely to arrive later this year. With “Felixstowe” leading the charge, this delivery promises to elevate his standing in the music world, mirroring his growth and continued evolution as an artist.
“Felixstowe” by Ervin Munir will be available to stream on all major platforms on June 8th.
