Chloe Youtsey Releases Heartfelt New Single "One Less Day"

Virginia Beach, VA – January 7, 2025 – Jazz vocalist and songwriter Chloe Youtsey has unveiled her deeply personal new single, “One Less Day,” a soulful lullaby that emerged from a tender moment of motherhood. Inspired by the duality of being a professional musician and a mom of two, Youtsey’s latest release is a poignant reflection on the fleeting beauty of time spent with her children.

“One Less Day” was born in the stillness of a late-night nursing session with her newborn daughter. As exhaustion mingled with her desire to practice music, Youtsey recalls hearing a gentle admonition: “Mama, lay down a little longer.” This divine whisper reminded her to cherish the irreplaceable moments of motherhood over the pressure to constantly achieve. What followed was a melody and chorus that flowed effortlessly, captured in the stillness of that moment.

“The opportunity to lie down next to my sleeping infant is a very fleeting window, whereas music is ageless,” says Youtsey. “This song is a reminder that who we are is more important than what we do.”

A graduate of James Madison University with a B.M. in Jazz Studies (Voice), Youtsey’s journey has been shaped by her nomadic military childhood, including eight years overseas, and her subsequent artistic growth in Austin, Texas. Her accolades include being selected for the prestigious Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead program at the Kennedy Center in 2018 and winning the Zeiders American Dream Theater’s 2023 Proteus Music Competition.

In November 2024, Youtsey made her international debut in Barcelona, Spain, performing at iconic venues like Café Marula and Ocaña in the Gothic Quarter, and collaborating on new projects with ChicagoWay Studios. Back home, she holds residencies at the Cavalier Resort and Roads Bistro in Virginia Beach and serves as an official Artist Resident for the 2024–2025 season at Zeiders American Dream Theater.

Her upcoming EP, Fix Your Thoughts, will blend three reimagined jazz standards with two original compositions. Recorded at MasterSound Studio, the EP highlights her collaboration with pianist John Toomey. Youtsey’s artistry has garnered critical acclaim, and the single has already earned her a nomination for the 2024 Veer Magazine Music Awards in the “Jazz Traditional” category.

Listeners can experience “One Less Day” across all major streaming platforms starting today. For more information about Chloe Youtsey, her upcoming EP, or live performances, visit www.chloeyoutsey.com.
