BBC Three release first look at A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder comes to the BBC later in 2024

The BBC and Moonage Pictures (The Pursuit of Love, Obsession, Bodies) have today released a selection of first-look images from A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, based on Holly Jackson’s smash hit novels and coming to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer later this year.

The eagerly anticipated six-part series stars Emma Myers (Wednesday), Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland, A Spy Among Friends), Gary Beadle (Rye Lane, Small Axe), Mathew Baynton (Ghosts, Wonka) and newcomer Zain Iqbal. A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder is a co-production with ZDFneo for Germany.

Five years ago schoolgirl Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh. Case closed. The police know he did it. Everyone in town knows he did it. But smart and single-minded Pip Fitz-Amobi isn’t so sure and she’s determined to prove it. If Sal Singh isn’t a murderer and the real killer is still out there, how far will they go to keep Pip from the truth?

The new pictures give fans their first glimpse of Emma Myers and Zain Iqbal in character together as Pip and Ravi, alongside Pip’s close circle of friends, plus Anna Maxwell-Martin as Pip’s mum Leanne. Pip is also seen in her bedroom with the evidence board she puts together as she investigates the murder of Andie Bell, and in the woods where mysterious black ribbons hang from the trees.

As previously announced, A Good Girls Guide To Murder will also feature rising stars Asha Banks (The Magic Flute) as Cara, Yali Topol Margalith (The Tattoist of Auschwitz) as Lauren, Jude Morgan-Collie (Here We Go) as Connor and Raiko Gohara (Get Lost) as Zach.

Poppy Cogan is the lead writer of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder (6 x 45’) and the show is produced by Florence Walker. Executive producers are Matthew Read, Matthew Bouch and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures, with Lucy Richer and Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC, and Dolly Wells, Holly Jackson and Poppy Cogan. BBC Studios, who have a minority investment stake in Moonage Pictures, are handling international distribution of the series.

A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder was filmed in the South West of England and will air on BBC Three and iPlayer later this year.
