A star-studded line-up of guests pitching their ultimate night of TV to Alison include Richard E Grant, Olivia Attwood, Oti Mabuse and host of the accompanying TV series, Rob Beckett
Published: January 31, 2025 — Smart TV with Alison Hammond â a brand-new spinoff podcast to Rob Beckettâs Smart TV television series â will launch on Wednesday 5 February, ahead of the series returning to screens later this year.
In each episode, TV icon Alison Hammond, along with comedian, radio host and TV know-it-all Matt Crosby, will sit down with household names to hear about their perfect night in front of the television Alison decides whether sheâd be willing to join them â will the night excite her? Will they provide the right snacks? Alison isnât afraid to hurt their feelings as she gives a verdict on their night. One they might not always be very happy with.
Host of the podcast, Alison Hammond, said: âI am absolutely BUZZING to share my brand-new podcast, Smart TV! Iâm teaming up with the brilliant Matt Crosby to chat all things tellyâdrama, reality, and everything in between! And weâre kicking off in style with the legendary Richard E. With 21 episodes in total across 10 weeks, and two episodes dropping weekly, celebrity guests include some of the most recognised and celebrated names across television kicking off with Richard E Grant, as well as Olivia Attwood, Prue Leith, Kathy Burke, Richard Armitage, Oti Mabuse, Rob Beckett and Dermot OâLeary.
From bingeworthy reality TV to long-running dramas and laugh-out-loud comedies, the podcast will span across all TV, both old and new, delivering an intimate and warm trip down memory lane and an exciting exploration of the TV that is making waves today. Along the way, Alison will scrutinise and debate the celebrity guestsâ choices â and decide if their perfect night of telly is worth staying in for.
