The King Moore Unity Project celebrates the release of a gift to mankind that holds the power to transform us on the inside, and then ripple out in ever-expanding circles that positively impacts the world at large. In a world with rising geopolitical tensions and protracted conflicts Grammy winning co-producer Tony Mercedes took his client King Moore and six random children and presented co-producer two time Grammy nominee Sean McMillion of the production team The Exclusives, the task of re-mixing singer/songwriter Jackie DeShannon’s “Put A Little Love In Your Heart.” The song was originally recorded by DeShannon and written by DeShannon, her brother Randy Myers and legend Jimmy Holiday.
Tony Mercedes was quoted as saying, “I was asked why I would pick seven random kids off various platforms like YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, who had no real experience singing, and put them into a studio. My response was the message was bigger than the melody. I also wanted to speak truth to power in the ideology that if one can believe one can achieve anything they put their mind to.”
In the words of Jackie DeShannon, “The Angels came down from Heaven and sang my song. My brother would have been so proud. I know he’s watching over me always.”
King Moore’s basic belief is “It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.” He also believes that “Kids are 25% of the population, but we make up 100 percent of the future.”
Sean McMillion (Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Demi Lovato, Usher) spearheaded the project and was faced with the task of mixing a song from the voices of King Moore, Lake Anthony, Nova Starr, Kanary Yellow, Royal Rose, Kash Mania & DJ Cool Kid, all under 11 years old and all recorded in different studios at different times. The record and music video are set to be released late August through Tribeca Records distribution/Tony Mercedes Music. Executive producers of the project include Jackie DeShannon, Eileen Shapiro and Tony Mercedes.
Although music has never stopped a war it does have the power to affect people. It is our hope that this new version of “Put A Little Love In Your Heart” can enrich and encourage a world that is in need of healing. Music is more than a tune but rather a touch….and these seven small children involved in King Moore’s Unity Project just will tug at your heart strings…..
