August 1, 2024 – An action-packed Paris Olympics 2024 opening week continues across iPlayer, BBC TV, Radio, BBC Sounds and the BBC Sport website and app across the afternoon and evening on Day 5.

With a plethora of medals up for grabs, here’s how to watch and follow some of the evening’s finals and keep up with Team GB.

Olympics Women’s Canoe Slalom Final

Hazel Irvine introduces another high-octane afternoon of Olympic action as canoe slalom and gymnastics take centre stage on day five in the French capital.

We’re following the thrilling women’s C1 canoe slalom final from 4.25pm on BBC iPlayer and BBC One, with British world champion and Tokyo silver medallist Mallory Franklin seeking another podium finish.

Olympics Men’s All Round Gymnastics Final

We’re back in the Bercy Arena for the Men’s All Round Gymnastics Final from 4.30pm across iPlayer/BBC One. You can expect to see Team GB’s Jake Jarman and Joe Fraser in action as Japan seek. a record fourth successive gymnastics gold.

Tony Livesey and Eleanor Oldroyd have coverage of the canoe slalom and Gymnastics on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds from 3.30pm.

Olympic 100m Freestyle, 1500m Freestyle, 200m Breaststroke and 200m Butterfly Finals

Join Clare Balding for a colossal night of swimming on iPlayer and BBC One as a plethora of star names take to the pool, headlined by the highly anticipated 100m freestyle finals.

The evening kicks off from 7.30pm with the women’s 100m freestyle, and Australia’s double world champion Mollie O’Callaghan appears the one to beat. Brit Anna Hopkin finished seventh in this event three years ago.

With the USA’s defending champion Caeleb Dressel failing to qualify for the men’s 100m freestyle event, the door could be open for Tokyo silver medallist Kyle Chalmers, while Great Britain’s Matt Richards and home favourite Maxime Grousset could also push for the podium.

Elsewhere, American legend Katie Ledecky is favourite to further increase her medal haul in the women’s 1,500m final, and France’s five-time world champion Leon Marchand is also in action.
