Showtime Announces Michael C. Hall’s Epic Return to the “Dexter” Franchise in Two Series for Paramount+ with Showtime

Dexter: Original Sin | Exclusive Tease From San Diego Comic-Con 2024 | Paramount+ with SHOWTIME
July 26, 2024 – San Diego – As part of its expanding DEXTER Universe, SHOWTIME announced the return of Michael C. Hall in the new series DEXTER: RESURRECTION and the previously announced origin story DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN. The announcement was made by a surprise appearance from Executive Producer and star Michael C Hall (DEXTER, SIX FEET UNDER) alongside Executive Producer and Showrunner Clyde Phillips (DEXTER, NURSE JACKIE) at San Diego Comic Con during the DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN panel, which is currently in production.
Golden Globe(R) and SAG Winner Michael C. Hall will return as Dexter Morgan in both series – he will star in DEXTER: RESURRECTION set in the present day and narrate the inner voice of a young Dexter (played by Patrick Gibson) in DEXTER: ORIGINAL SIN which takes place in the 90s.

DEXTER premiered in the fall of 2006 and ran for eight seasons where it captured millions of fans and instantly became a cult classic. At the end of its run, DEXTER was the #1 SHOWTIME original and since then, has been seen in encores around the world. Over time, it has built a rabid and loyal fan base in the tens of millions. In 2021, DEXTER: NEW BLOOD premiered, a limited series set ten years after the conclusion of the original, and instantly became SHOWTIME’s most watched and most streamed original ever.
All previous seasons of DEXTER and DEXTER: NEW BLOOD are now available for subscribers on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan.
