Euros winner Juan Mata joins coverage of Euro 2024 final across the BBC

The Spanish International and Euros winner is a special guest of the BBC team in Berlin on Sunday 14 July

July 12, 2024 – Over in Berlin on Sunday the nation will be hoping England Men’s team can make history at the final of Euros 2024 and end their 58-year wait for a major trophy and win the Euros for the first time.

Gary Lineker leads the coverage from Berlin’s Olympiastadion on BBC iPlayer and BBC One from 6.30pm joined in the studio by Rio Ferdinand and Micah Richards and special guest Spanish International and Euros winner Juan Mata, with commentary from Alan Shearer and Guy Mowbray. Alex Scott and Kelly Somers will be pitch side soaking up all the atmosphere and anticipation for the historic game.

BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds will have live commentary on the match and listeners can enjoy the build-up throughout the weekend, with Mark Chapman leading the coverage joined by Juan Mata.

He’ll be live in Berlin’s Olympiastadion from 6pm on Sunday as the countdown to kick-off begins. Juan Mata scored the last time Spain reached a European Championship final, netting in the 4-0 win against Italy in Kyiv in 2012. He was part of the Spanish squad that won the 2010 World Cup and scored 10 goals in 41 games for his country. He also made 278 Premier League appearances during stints at Chelsea and Manchester United, winning the Champions League with the Londoners in 2012, amongst other major honours.
