OAAA Names The Post a 2024 OBIE Award Finalist

The Out of Home Advertising Association of America (OAAA) is recognizing The Washington Post as a finalist in the Film and Media category for Post Style’s People. Power. Pop. mural billboard.

This distinction for The Post, which relaunched its Style section in Fall 2023, highlights its stunning mural billboard and its bold placement in what is widely considered the nation’s style capital (New York City) by a news organization headquartered in the nation’s capital (Washington). The Post’s unique approach to Style coverage is brought to life through the mural’s bespoke collage artwork, including featured vignettes, confident portraiture asserting power alongside images of protesters and politicians, and dancers and artists offering a new holistic meaning to pop culture. Its textures and newsprint motifs support the collage composition while also paying homage to the Style section’s print heritage because, at its core, Post Style is about people.

This year marks the 82nd annual OBIE Awards, the oldest and most prestigious honors for creative excellence in out of home (OOH) advertising design. The Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at the 2024 OOH Media Conference in Carlsbad, California.
