Jackson Will Continue as Anchor of ‘Hallie Jackson NOW’ on NBC News NOW & Senior Washington Correspondent for NBC News

March 20, 2024 – NBC News’ award-winning journalist Hallie Jackson will become the anchor of the Sunday edition of NBC Nightly News, beginning April 7. 

In addition to her new role, Jackson will continue to anchor Hallie Jackson NOW weekdays at 5:00-7:00 p.m. ET on NBC News NOW, NBC News’ 24/7 streaming news network. She will also retain her role as senior Washington correspondent, reporting across TODAYNBC Nightly News with Lester Holt and Meet the Press with Kristen Welker, in addition to NBC News NOW and NBCNews.com.

Known for her deep political expertise, Jackson is a key contributor to NBC News’ 2024 election coverage. She co-anchored several recent Decision 2024 primetime specials for NBC News NOW, including Super Tuesday coverage, and President Biden’s State of the Union address.

Previously, Jackson served as NBC News’ chief White House correspondent during President Donald Trump’s administration. She traveled with him on key international trips, including the summits with Kim Jong Un and the anniversary of D-Day in Normandy. In 2020, she was a co-moderator of the most-watched Democratic presidential debate in history with nearly 20 million viewers on television. She also anchored MSNBC Reports with Hallie Jackson and before that, the 10 a.m. hour on MSNBC. Jackson earned her reputation as a tenacious reporter on the 2016 campaign trail, landing exclusive interviews with then-leading Republican candidates. 

Jackson joined NBC News in 2014 as a correspondent in Los Angeles after working as a national correspondent for Hearst Television in Washington, D.C, providing daily coverage of political and national events for its 26 affiliates. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

NBC Nightly News is the #1 evening newscast across the board on Sundays, with year-over-year growth in key measurements. Janelle Rodriguez, executive vice president of programming for NBC News, is the executive in charge of NBC Nightly News and Matt Frucci is the executive producer of the weekend editions of NBC Nightly News.
