Elexa Dawson's Song "Wanderlust" Soars to #11 on Folk Chart Top Albums for January 2024

Elexa Dawson, the soulful singer-songwriter known for her poignant lyrics and deep connection to the land, has achieved a remarkable milestone with her latest release, “Wanderlust.” The album has ascended to #11 on the Folk Chart Top Albums for January 2024, captivating audiences with its evocative melodies and heartfelt storytelling.

“Wanderlust” has been played extensively on terrestrial radio across the globe, and found its way onto the airwaves of esteemed satellite radio stations such as SiriusXM The Village, The Bridge, and Indigiverse. Elexa Dawson expresses her gratitude, stating, “We couldn’t be happier that the music is reaching so many people. I’m so grateful for the DJs who are giving ‘Wanderlust’ to their audiences.”

Elexa Dawson is no stranger to crafting songs that resonate deeply with her audience. With a knack for blending hope and introspection, her music delves into the complexities of human emotions without shying away from pain. Rooted in her connection to the earth and community, Elexa’s songs celebrate relationships, from the tender bond between mother and child to the enduring ties of friendship and love.

In late 2019, Music is Medicine introduced Elexa as a solo artist, after being long recognized as the lead songwriter for Weda Skirts. Her startup label, Turns Out Records recently published the Skirts’ “Live at Kaw Valley Public House” and multiple albums from her side project Heyleon, a trans-apocalyptic pagan bluegrass gospel group with roots in Kansas and New Mexico.

“Wanderlust” marks Elexa’s sophomore release, a collaborative endeavor with Oklahoma-based Stanley Hotel. The album, characterized by its mindful experimentation, presents a rich tapestry of soundscapes that resonate with audiences on a visceral level. Standout singles such as “Sweet Sisters,” an anthem for earth lovers, and “Answer,” a folk-rock ballad steeped in ancestral wisdom, exemplify the diverse range of textures and moods explored in this alchemic collection.

As “Wanderlust” continues to captivate listeners and climb the charts, Elexa Dawson solidifies her position as a formidable force in the folk music scene, weaving together tales of resilience, connection, and the human experience.
