‘World News Tonight’ Grows Audience Over Previous Week in Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49
Season to Date, ‘World News Tonight’ Ranks #1 in Total Viewers for the 8th Year in a Row and #1 in Both Demos for the 5th Year Straight
“World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 newscast on all of broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (8.177 million), Adults 25-54 (1.125 million) and Adults 18-49(855,000) during the week of Nov. 20, 2023, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research. “World News Tonight” outperformed “NBC Nightly News” (7.648 million, 1.093 million and 772,000, respectively) by 529,000 Total Viewers, by 32,000 Adults 25-54 and by 83,000 Adults 18-49.
“World News Tonight” improved on the previous week in Total Viewers (+3%/267,000 – 8.177 million vs. 7.910 million),Adults 25-54 (+3%/+35,000 – 1.125 million vs. 1.090 million) and Adults 18-49 (+15%/+112,000 – 855,000 vs. 743,000).
“World News Tonight” has won the last 260 of 261 weeks in Total Viewers and 189 of the last 191 in Adults 25-54.
“World News Tonight” was the No. 4 program of the week in Total Viewers (8.177 million) on all of broadcast and cable television (excluding sports).
Season to date, “World News Tonight” (7.822 million) is ranking No. 1 in Total Viewers for the 8th straight year, based on Most Current Data. “World News Tonight” is leading “NBC Nightly News” (6.759 million) by 1.063 million and “CBS Evening News” (4.780 million) by 3.042 million.
“World News Tonight” is ranking No. 1 in Adults 25-54 and Adults 18-49 for the 5th consecutive season. “World News Tonight” is leading NBC in Adults 25-54 (+52,000 – 1.116 million vs. 1.064 million) and in Adults 18-49 (+42,000 – 767,000 vs. 725,000).
