Nashville, TN – Acclaimed singer and recording artist Wil Merrell is spreading holiday cheer with the release of his heartwarming rendition of the classic Christmas tune, Winter Wonderland. Available on all major streaming platforms, this single is a cozy reimagining of the beloved standard, capturing the magic of the season.
“This traditional Christmas standard is one of my personal favorites,” Merrell shares. “I wanted to arrange it and present it in a way that would make you want to grab a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate and curl up on the couch by the fireplace. I think we achieved it!”
Hailing from a musical family, Merrell’s passion for singing was sparked at an early age, performing alongside his family in their choir. That early start led to an illustrious career that has seen him perform on some of the world’s biggest stages and alongside iconic names in the music industry. His impressive résumé includes collaborations with artists like OneRepublic, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Cassadee Pope. He has also graced major television events, including NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center and PBS’s Austin City Limits.
Most recently, Merrell has been captivating audiences as a performer with the American rock band Needtobreathe. His upcoming studio album, Era, pays tribute to jazz and soul legends Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and Donny Hathaway, further showcasing his ability to connect across musical genres.
Beyond music, Merrell is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent. His program, SessionDay LIVE!, provides a masterclass-style recording experience for middle and high school students. He also plans to relaunch his nonprofit organization, Takin’ the Stage, a performing arts initiative for youth, in summer 2025.
