The final season of Vera, which will begin airing at 8pm on Wednesday 1st January (New Year’s Day) and continue on Thursday 2nd January 2025.

‘VERA’ SYNOPSIS:

The final two investigations of the crime drama starring Brenda Blethyn as DCI Vera Stanhope, a detective who tackles every new case with gusto and professionalism.

Vera nets two cases when an ex-prisoner’s body is discovered on the banks of the Tyne and a missing girl and a student killed and dumped at the foot of three mythical monoliths set her on an investigation that triggers memories from her own childhood.

After this final season, Vera will be paired with a special celebratory documentary, titled ‘Farewell Pet’, offering fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the final run, which they can tune into at 9pm on Friday 3rd January.

This special documentary goes behind the scenes of the much-loved detective drama Vera and asks why the show remains as popular as ever after 14 years on air.

Featuring exclusive access to the making of its final series, there are also interviews with Brenda Blethyn reflecting on her time as Vera, key cast members David Leon and Jon Morrison, the directors, the crew and Vera’s creator Ann Cleeves to celebrate its legacy
