The dedicated phoneline established for people to contribute evidence to the review of what was known about Tim Westwood’s conduct is closing on 19 May 2023.
Since this additional evidence gathering phase opened, Gemma White KC and Jahnine Davis have received a significant amount of important new information. The number of people contacting the review via the phoneline dropped off after the first week and the phoneline will therefore close as planned on 19 May 2023. The phoneline answering machine will continue in operation over the weekend for anyone who wishes to leave their contact details and receive a call back.
Gemma White KC says: “We would like to thank everyone who has contacted us via the review phoneline. We know that taking the decision to call was not easy for many of you and that speaking to us has taken courage. Your evidence will assist me in my task of independently establishing whether the BBC knew of concerns and responded appropriately to them. If you have been thinking of contributing but have not been sure about whether to do so, please do get in touch now.”
