BBC Two Northern Ireland and BBC Radio Ulster will both air live coverage of the GAA Ulster Senior Football Final, and horse racing’s Ulster Derby this weekend.

In what promises to be a action-packed weekend of sport for BBC Northern Ireland, the actions begins as Mark Sidebottom presents live horse racing action from the Down Royal racecourse.

Airing from 2:40pm on BBC Two Northern Ireland, Pat Smullen will join Sarah Travers and Thomas Kane at the racecourse, mixing in with the race-goers in the stands and the paddock.

BBC Radio Ulster will also cover the Ulster Derby from Down Royal with programming starting at 3pm, hosted by Michael McNamee and Grant Cameron.

On Sunday, attention switches to the GAA Ulster Senior Football Final, which this year is being contested between Cavan and reigning champions Donegal. On BBC Radio Ulster, and also starting at 1:30pm will be a special edition of Sportsound, also airing live coverage of the final. Mike Finnerty will provide the commentary with input from Enda McGinley and Brendan Devenney.
