June 13, 2024 – Renowned singer, songwriter, and guitarist Quinn Hedges proudly announces the release of his latest single, “So High.” The track captures the exhilarating feeling of an instant spark and connection when meeting someone special.
“So High” features Quinn Hedges on guitar and vocals, with John B Hedges on keyboards, Mike Strickland on bass, and Brandon Harris on drums. The song was written by Quinn Hedges and expertly mixed by Mike Strickland, ensuring a harmonious blend of each artist’s contributions.
The accompanying music video, directed by Devon Blue Whitaker—fresh off his success with NPR’s Tiny Desk Music contest winner The Philharmonik—was filmed on the picturesque Partlow Family Farm in Lincoln, CA. Jayson Angove served as the director of photography. Despite an unexpected bee attack during the shoot, the team emerged unscathed, adding a memorable story to the video’s creation.
Quinn Hedges’ musical journey began in Delaware, where he was raised in a musically inclined family. His first instruments were the trumpet and piano, before he found his true passion in the guitar at age 15. Moving to California to pursue a degree in music, Quinn dedicated himself to songwriting, which culminated in his debut album “Quinn Hedges” in 2006. This was followed by the acoustic album “Without You” in 2011, and the formation of The Quinn Hedges Band in 2009, which released “Step Outside” in 2012.
From 2013 to 2016, Quinn collaborated with his cousin, John B Hedges, resulting in the acclaimed album “Slightly South of Stormy Clouds,” mixed by Grammy Award winner Tim Sonnefeld and mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig. More recently, in 2023, Quinn self-produced a holiday album, “Night Divine,” and in 2024 released “Summer in Dewey,” an evocative exploration of summers spent in Dewey Beach, Delaware.
Quinn’s rich musical background includes performances with Sacramento-based bands such as The Outcome and Fair Trade, as well as collaborations with former Nashville session guitarist Michael Gregory in “Hedges and Gregory.” Quinn’s impressive accolades include being a two-time Semi-Finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for “Without You” in 2013 and “Forever More” in 2016.
Quinn Hedges has graced countless venues, from intimate wine bars to large theaters, and even performed the national anthem at a Sacramento Kings vs. Los Angeles Lakers game. His authentic and wise lyrics resonate deeply with audiences, making his music a soulful and relatable experience.
