Sales and marketing executive Jere Hanks has been named Director of Sales of NBC Sports Northwest, the Official Network of the Portland Trail Blazers and home to comprehensive coverage of the Oregon Ducks, Beavers, and Seattle Seahawks.
In this role, Hanks will oversee the regional network’s multi-platform partnership solutions team. The announcement was made by Diane Penny, Senior Vice President and General Manager, NBC Sports Northwest.
“Jere is an accomplished business leader who brings a track record of success generating results and a data-driven approach to the team,” said Penny. “We are excited to have him join our growing team in Portland, and help serve partners with unique integrated solutions leveraging the engaged audiences of NBC Sports Northwest.”
Jere Hanks is a 20-year ad sales veteran in the sports, media, and event properties industries. He joins NBC Sports Northwest after serving as Founder and President of Ramp Marketing Inc., a Portland, Ore.-based ad agency specialising in advertising and experiential activations for brands, since 2007. During his tenure, Hanks oversaw all operational aspects of the business, including developing and creating business plans and marketing strategies, negotiating complex contracts, and identifying, pitching and winning new business opportunities.
He led more than 50 client accounts, including local to national advertisers like Barracuda Networks, Dodge, AT&T, Safeway, Oregon Lottery, State Farm and US Bank. Prior to Ramp, Hanks worked in leadership positions in sales & marketing for ESPN, the University of Oregon, and minor league baseball.
A longtime Oregon resident, he graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, and received a master’s degree in Sports Management from The Ohio State University.
