Australian electronic DJ, producer, and songwriter Ninajirachi is set to perform her first ever U.S. festival show at Lollapalooza at Chicago’s Grant Park this Friday, August 4. She will appear twice at Perry’s Stage at 12:00-12:35 PM and then Tito’s Stage at 8:00-8:45 PM. Following her Chicago play, Ninajirachi will travel to Los Angeles where she will perform at HARD Summer’s Purple Stage at the LA Memorial Coliseum at 2:00 PM.
Born Nina Wilson, Ninajirachi started out by channeling her love for pop and dance music into Garageband production sessions. Releasing these sessions on Soundcloud and growing popular on Australian airwaves such as triple j’s Unearthed, Ninajirachi quickly became a hotly-tipped producer and a pioneer of Australia’s burgeoning hyperpop scene. After her highly rotated debut single “Pure Luck” featuring Freya Staer, Ninajirachi showcased her versatility through NLV records on a slew of singles combining ambient rave aesthetics of Drain Gang with attention-grabbing, post-Y2K touchpoints, as well as remixes for everyone from Flight Facilities to Deadmau5. Lollapalooza may be her first US festival show, but she is no stranger to the stage. Performing at Spilt Milk, Beyond The Valley, Listen Out, Splendour, Groovin’ The Moo, FOMO, and Falls Festival, and touring with Mallrat, Charli XCX, What So Not, Cashmere Cat, Ninajirachi brings an abundance of live experience along with sharp and eclectic mind-blowing beats.
Ninajirachi has earned an exponential growth after her 2020 collaborative EP True North with Kota Banks was named the 8th ‘Best Album of the Year’ by The Atlantic. Second Nature, her debut mixtape released in November 2022, landed her on the cover of NME Australia, and EDM.com named her as one of the Top Producers of 2022. Most recently, Billboard Dance deemed her “One To Watch” after her debut full-length project Second Nature, which is nominated this year for an Australian AIR Award for “Best Independent Dance Or Electronica Album Or EP,” alongside Flume.
