LA’s GiNN 諸葛靖 drops a darkly debaucherous dancefloor-scorching electrohop anthem

with his mindfully mantric hit //MHM// (嗯哼)

On January 10th, Asia-based artist GiNN 諸葛靖 will drop //MHM//, a dark, debaucherous, and bass-heavy hedonic anthem that pulsates with unstoppable power, and authenticity. Written and produced with GiNN’s unapologetic swagger, this liberating release melds “juggernautical” instrumentals with bilingual lyricism, forging a sonic onslaught that turns any place into a dancefloor, as shown on his media post upon release, that is set to prevail over language barriers and bond all listeners with euphony.

Recorded in Chengdu, Sichuan, under GiNN’s meticulous executive production, //MHM// is self-written and composed, backed by Otomic’s addictive sound designs and “GiNN-friendly” audio engineering, providing sufficient space for his deep, sonorous vocals to shine and fueling his fearlessly bold creativity to thrive. With every seven (symbolizing luck in Chinese culture) kicks, the thundering bass escalates (urging his listeners to dedicate to their own truth, vision, and process), layered with the GiNNESE dark humour, inducing a raw surge of adrenaline ensuring every beat hits with electrifying force.

Drawing on his Han-Taiwanese American roots, GiNN straddles East and West, threading Mandarin and English through seductive, unrelenting hooks which ensnared audiences in large-scale stages at Head in the Clouds Festival Guangzhou 2023 by 88rising. Equally as successful online, GiNN 諸葛靖 has accrued over 30M views, 1M likes, and 50K followers on Douyin 抖音 (TikTok CN) and demonstrated his unstoppable groove with over 90K user generated content across dance, fashion, and fitness featuring his second single Dottie.

This new single //MHM//, in the same vein as his biggest track so far – 暈 (Dizzy), exemplifies his mission to bridge cultures with his signature bilingual lyrics via a throbbing fusion of Electropop and Hip-Hop — or Electrohop, in his words. The track pairs simple arrangement with intricate sound design, culminating in an intoxicating synthesis with a clear directive: trust your instincts, break through barriers, and let the world catch up to your terms.

“//MHM// is a bouncy fusion of Electropop, Dance, and Rap that turns a simple “mhm” into a full-blown mantra. Equal parts flex and self-belief, this track is all about knowing what’s right, owning your moves, and saying it loud enough for everyone to hear.”

//MHM// is a battering ram of truth, ambition, and unflinching energy. GiNN’s scorching vocals urge listeners to shatter their constraints, take charge, and own their aspirations.

About

It all started with a singing contest at the University of Washington called The Voice of UW. That’s where GiNN, an LA-born Han-Taiwanese American artist, unearthed his love for hip-hop and secretly began ghost-producing to pay his bills. He discovered his stride by fusing Electronic elements with Hip-Hop, an approach he adapted after being warned that dabbling in social commentary may make his tracks too heavy for mainstream appeal.

Taking cues from artists like Black Eyed Peas, Far East Movement, and Lil Wayne, GiNN eventually channelled his East-West upbringing into genre-bending ‘Electrohop’ delivered in Mandarin and English, layered with his signature dark humour. GiNN’s music emphasises self-growth and a desire to break free from shallow social confines, as showcased in his hit single TICK TOCK, which urges listeners to prioritise personal evolution.

His deep-toned vocals are at odds with his appearance, while the pounding basslines and bilingual lyricism weave a hedonistic groove perfect for clubs and late-night cruises. With unapologetic self-confidence, he draws upon ATL, Electronica, Techno, and Deep House influences for an assertive, sultry aesthetic. GiNN’s journey embodies his battle to embrace both family pressures and his own creativity, forging a path that celebrates dualities and encourages exploration—dark humour and all. His story continues to unfold globally.
