KISS TEAM HONOUR TRAILBLAZERS THAT LAUNCHED THE STATION

KISS Content Director Rebecca Frank and KISS DJ Majestic were amongst a host of people honouring industry legends Gordon Mac and DJ Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson at London’s Music Walk of Fame this week.

Mac was a co-founder of KISS; with Anderson, who sadly passed away in 2018, one of the station’s first DJs. Between them they established the then pirate as not only London’s biggest radio station but also Britain’s first dance music station. Both the station and Anderson’s show played a crucial role in shaping the dance music scene, supporting emerging artists and hosting top DJs and music events. Something KISS continues to do until this day.

In 1990, under Mac’s leadership, KISS was given its first broadcasting licence when it became a fully licensed legal station – the first of its kind to do so.

Also attending the ceremony where the pair received their stars on the Music Walk of Fame, were Trevor Nelson, David and Carrie Grant and Jazzie B.
