Gannett released its 2023 Inclusion Report, highlighting company efforts related to inclusion, diversity, equity and belonging.
Notable highlights from Gannett’s 2023 Inclusion Report:
- Steady representation growth at all levels, including people of color hired (+2.9%), promoted to or named to director and above (+0.7%), and women promoted to or named to director and above (+0.4%).
- Employee survey feedback highlighted gains in inclusion and belonging measures. Gannett scored significantly above industry-standard benchmarks as employees expressed a strong sense of belonging (+9 points) and recognized that the company embraces diversity at all levels (+8 points).
- Introduced “Inclusion Needs Us” series, with interview-style storytelling and videos that spotlight employees and reflect the company culture.
- Expanded Inclusion Training library with a focus on mental health education, awareness and support strategies in 2023.
- Supplier Diversity Program tracked $806M in total diverse spend, up more than 25% from the previous year.
