From future business leaders to mental health advocates, Gannett’s Employee Resource Groups are proud to announce $60,000 in grants to be distributed to non-profit organizations across the country, as part of the company’s social impact initiative.
The funding comes from the Gannett Foundation, which has granted more than $220 million since 1991. In its second year the fund has increased its contributions by $10,000!
Organizations receiving funds were selected by each employee resource group, or ERG. Gannett’s ERGs are employee-led, diverse groups that serve as a safe place to have open conversations and offer the opportunity to gain greater awareness of different experiences and perspectives.
In addition to the funding, Gannett’s ERGs are looking to commit 500 volunteer hours to the non-profit organizations, building year-long partnerships.
The following organizations will be receiving grants:
Arab American Association of New York
Asian American Journalists Association
Courageous Conversations Global Foundation
Future Business Leaders of America
Girls on the Run of Central Indiana
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
