FOX NEWS CHANNEL DOMINATES BASIC CABLE FOR 41 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS IN TOTAL DAY

FNC Crushes Cable News in Primetime and Total Day for 215 Straight Months

Hannity Posts Most-Watched Month in Program History, Remains Cable News Leader in Total Viewers and Key Demo

Tucker Carlson Tonight Notches Highest-Rated Month Since Launch at 8PM/ET, Ranks Number Two Across the Board

NEW YORK – November 26th, 2019 – FOX News Channel (FNC) continued to dominate all of basic cable during the month of November in total day viewership for 41 consecutive months, according to Nielsen Media Research. The network also marked 215 months as the most-watched cable news network in total day and primetime viewers, garnering 1.6 million viewers in total day and 2.8 million viewers in primetime.

During the month of November, Sean Hannity’s program Hannity (9PM/ET) crushed all of cable news in total viewers and in the 25-54 demo.  Hannity, Tucker Carlson TonightThe Five and The Ingraham Angle made up four of the top five programs in cable news with Hannity and Tucker notching all-time program highs.

Throughout total day and primetime, FNC continued to beat CNN and MSNBC in total viewers and A25-54. FNC averaged 1,592,000 viewers in total day, outpacing CNN’s 760,000 and MSNBC’s 1,208,000.  In total day demo, FNC averaged 260,000 ranking ahead of CNN with 180,000 and MSNBC with 190,000 viewers. In primetime, FNC garnered 2,799,000 viewers, beating CNN’s 999,000 and MSNBC’s 2,060,000 viewers. With Adults 25-54, FNC secured 420,000 viewers, topping MSNBC’s 352,000 and beating CNN’s 239,000.

Kicking off FNC’s daytime programming, the 4AM/ET hour of FOX & Friends First averaged 521,000 viewers and 116,000 with A25-54. The 5AM/ET hour of FOX & Friends First had a total of 723,000 viewers and 166,000 in the demo. FNC’s signature morning show FOX & Friends marked 217 months as the number one cable news program from 6-9AM/ET with an average of 1.7 million viewers and 299,000 in the demo. At 9AM/ET, America’s Newsroom pulled 1.9 million viewers and 276,000 with A25-54 while FNC’s 12PM/ET afternoon ensemble program Outnumbered, garnered 1.9 million viewers and 302,000 in the 25-54 category. Outnumbered Overtime with Harris Faulkner averaged 1.8 million viewers and 287,000 in the key demo, even dominating ABC’s GMA3 11 times this month.

In the 2PM/ET hour, The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino averaged 1.8 million viewers and 271,000 in the 25-54 demo, while FNC’s 3PM/ET hour, FOX News Reporting, averaged 1.8 million viewers and 274,000 with A25-54. Your World with Neil Cavuto at 4PM/ET delivered 1.8 million viewers and 273,000 in the 25-54 demo.

During FNC’s early evening and primetime programming, all programs notched yearly highs for the month of November. The Five (5PM/ET) continued to sweep the competition in its timeslot, delivering 3 million viewers and 454,000 in the demo, topping CNN and MSNBC in both categories. Anchored by chief political anchor Bret Baier at 6PM/ET, Special Report averaged 2.6 million viewers and 418,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Story with Martha MacCallum at 7PM/ET delivered 2.3 million viewers and 376,000 with A25-54.

At 8PM/ET, Tucker Carlson Tonight delivered its highest-rated month in program history with 3.4 million viewers and 551,000 in the 25-54 category, ranking as the number two program in all of cable news,  topping CNN and MSNBC combined in total viewers. Hannity at 9PM/ET continued as the most-watched cable news program in both categories for the eighth month in a row with 3.6 million viewers and 552,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle (9PM/ET), hosted by Laura Ingraham, averaged 2.8 million viewers and 437,000 in the 25-54 demo. FOX News @ Night with Shannon Bream drew 1.5 million viewers and 275,000 in the key 25-54 demo for the 11PM/ET program.

During the weekends, Watters World (Saturdays, 8PM/ET) garnered 2,040,000 viewers and 248,000 in the demo while Justice with Judge Jeanine (Saturdays, 9PM/ET) secured 2,268,000 viewers and 258,000 in A25-54. Both programs crushed the competition, doubling the viewership of CNN and MSNBC in both categories, respectively. FNC’s late-night comedy program The Greg Gutfeld Show (Saturdays, 10PM/ET) delivered 2,026,000 viewers and 305,000 in the demo, doubling the viewership of its competition on CNN and MSNBC in both categories. Dominating late night programming, Gutfeld beat Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show in viewers and topped Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, TBS’ Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and Conan combined in total viewers.

Additionally, Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo (Sundays, 10AM/ET) garnered 1,708,000 viewers and 270,000 in the demo and MediaBuzz (Sundays, 11AM/ET)hosted by Howie Kurtz, saw 1,490,000 total viewers and 236,000 in the demo, beating the cable news competition in both categories. The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton averaged 1,367,000 viewers and 150,000 in the demo, dominating CNN and MSNBC in the 9PM/ET timeslot.
